Following a question from one of you: “But how do you use Stevia Rebaudiana?”
With the arrival of the new packaging, we realized it was the perfect time for a quick refresher.
From the jar to your kitchen✨
Once it arrives at your home, our Agri-Geuna® Stevia Rebaudiana dried leaf is ready to be used simply and naturally.
For greater convenience, we recommend that you grind the leaves using:
- a coffee grinder
- a small food processor
You can choose a coarser grind or turn it into a powder, depending on your preferences.
How to sweeten tea, coffee, or desserts☕
When you prepare your tea, coffee, or a sweet recipe, all you need is a pinch of stevia.
The leaf has one important characteristic: it does not dissolve like sugar, because it is an unprocessed natural product.
After sweetening, you may notice a small deposit at the bottom of the cup. If you prefer, you can strain it with a sieve after a few minutes. Alternatively, you can consume it without any problems.
How much to use?
Stevia Rebaudiana has a sweetening power up to about 100 times greater than sugar
This means that: if you normally use a teaspoon of sugar, with stevia a pinch of a teaspoon will be enough.
It is best to start with a little and add gradually, until you find your balance.
If you want to use stevia instead of sugar in a recipe, it is important to recalibrate the quantities. For example, if a recipe calls for 100 g of sugar, about 1 g of stevia will be enough (to be adjusted later according to personal taste).
⚠️ Remember ⚠️ however that sugar is not only used to sweeten: in baked goods, it also helps provide volume and structure. For this reason, you may need to do a few tests to find the right balance.
🌱 A calorie-free sweetness
Another characteristic that makes stevia so highly appreciated is that it is non-caloric: it does not provide calories and does not affect blood sugar levels like regular sugar.
For this reason, it is often chosen by those who pay attention to their blood sugar or wish to reduce their sugar intake.
